Off To The Eastern Shore!
July 3rd, 2013 — It’s almost the 4th of July. America’s day of independence! I’ve had Glass for about 4 days now. This is my first big trip with it, so I tried really hard not to break it.
I got to sit passenger in my friend’s new Land Rover. That’s (another) Brian and Aimee sitting up front. Let me tell you, that’s an awesome vehicle. Smooth, comfortable, and a lot of windows. You’re darn right I took some car shots!
On our way to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, we picked up our friend Julie. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Bay Bridge in Maryland, it’s two parallel bridges about 4.3 miles long. One bridge has 2 lanes, the other 3. Sometimes if you’re lucky (like we were) you can get on the 3-lane bridge with 2 lanes of oncoming traffic. This makes the bridge crossing really exciting!
That’s a lot of water below you. Recently a car flipped off of the bridge! They were ok thankfully, but it does remind people to be cautious.
After about an hour and a half of total travel time, we arrived at Brian’s house on the shore. It’s right near St. Michaels, Maryland. St. Michaels is a really awesome town. It gives off that small-town vibe, but is full of great places to shop and eat. They also have a winery and brewery, right next to each other for convenience!
I’m sure we’ll take a trip through St. Michaels at some point. Then I can show it off.
After we got our food and luggage in the cottage, we hung out till the wee hours of the morning. Since every bed was occupied, I made due with what materials I had. It’s actually a lot more comfortable than it looks!
Now, on to the 4th of July celebrations!
